Ingredients
24 wonton wrappers
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
1/4 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Zest of 1 orange
Non-stick cooking spray
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Spray a mini cupcake tin with non-stick cooking spray. Press one wonton wrapper into each slot to form a cup.
3. Bake the wonton wrappers for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
4. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mascarpone, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix until the ingredients are well blended and smooth.
5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips and orange zest.
6. Once the wonton cups are cooled, spoon or pipe the cheese mixture into each cup.
7. Chill the filled cups in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
8. Just before serving, dust the tops with additional powdered sugar.
Variations & Tips
For a twist on the classic flavor, try adding different mix-ins to the filling like chopped pistachios, dried cranberries, or even a dash of espresso powder for a coffee-flavored kick. You can also experiment with using different types of citrus zest, such as lemon or lime, for a variety of fresh, tangy notes.
